The public defender's office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 9. Vasquez Avalos is being held without bond. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
• Samantha Nicole Roberts made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. Julia Cutler is appointed as counsel. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 28 in Magistrate Court. Bond is set at $400 cash or surety. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
