Tambor book of essays coming in 2017

NEW YORK – Jeffrey Tambor, the award-winning actor whose career has ranged from “The Larry Sanders Show” to “Transparent,” is working on a book of autobiographical essays.

Crown Archetype told The Associated Press on Thursday that it would publish Tambor’s “Are You Anybody” in spring 2017. Crown, an imprint of Penguin Random House, announced that Tambor would share “introspective, humorous stories” and how he survived his childhood and his father’s motto, “Don’t celebrate, they’ll take it away from you.”

Tambor, 71, won a Golden Globe and Emmy for his role as Maura Pfefferman on “Transparent.” He’s also known for “Arrested Development” and “The Larry Sanders Show.”

In a statement Tambor said his stories would be funny and serious, “awkward” and “inspired.” He said: “All will, I think, be hopeful and instructive.”
