Three cited in alcohol compliance checks
A second alcohol compliance check this month of Marshalltown businesses and retail stores has resulted in three more citations.
This past Friday, the Marshalltown Police Department conducted compliance checks at 16 local businesses and retail stores that sell alcohol. Three employees at three different businesses were cited, including:
Joshua Blue, 36, at Center Street Station, 19 N Center St.;
Antoinette Wallace, 42, at Walmart, 2802 S Center St.; and
Deanna Galbreath, 48, at Tom’s Cue & Brew, 803 E Main St.
All three were charged with providing alcohol to person under the legal age. They were cited and released on scene.
Friday’s citations follows a similar compliance check conducted on Aug. 1 which yielded four citations for employees at four different businesses.
The MPD receives grant funding through SATUCI (Substance Abuse Treatment Unit of Central Iowa) to do concentrated alcohol enforcement and education to reduce underage drinking and the purchasing of alcohol by persons under the age of 21. The MPD emphasized it will continue to do these special programs to combat underage drinking and the sale of alcohol to minors.
