O’Hungry’s offers breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner

O’Hungry’s restaurant, located in the Best Western Regency Inn at 3303 S. Center St., in Marshalltown, wants the public to know they offer a variety of dining options that are budget-friendly.

“When people see the prices, they think if the food is that cheap, the quality is cheap, but we’re still maintaining quality,” said restaurant manager Donnie Benda. “We don’t want to hike prices like other restaurants do where a couple may spend $50 out for dinner.”

The establishment is the former site of Junction Sports Bar & Grill, which was acquired by Stan Chu, who owns several restaurants and hotels across the country. Chu also owns the country’s only other O’Hungry’s, located in San Diego, Calif. Appetizers, soups and salads, burgers, sandwiches, spare ribs, pizzas, pastas and desserts are offered with options for kids and a dinner menu available all day. An all you can eat breakfast buffet consisting of scrambled eggs, meats, biscuits and gravy, muffins, cereal and yogurt, costing $5 per person. It is served Monday through Saturday from 5:30-10 a.m. and Sundays from 5:30 a.m. to noon.

On Thursday, Friday and Sundays, two topping large pizzas are on special for $5. Burgers are available with beef, turkey and veggie options. The new blazin’ burger consists of ghost chili pepper cheese and Carolina Reaper sauce. A similarly styled pizza is also available, made with buffalo chicken.

“People say they are amazed at the quality of our pizzas and our tenderloins are the best in town,” Benda said. “We have pasta priced at $7.99 when competitors would charge closer to $15 for the same amount of food.”

Benda, who served as assistant manager of Junction Sports Bar & Grill, has 25 years experience in the food, grocery and retail businesses. He said he is very picky about the quality of service he expects his staff to provide.

Catering is also available and the restaurant/hotel complex can accommodate over 500 diners. O’Hungry’s restaurant area is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The bar stays open an hour later each night.

“I’m happy with this chain and want to see the restaurant more family-friendly than a sports bar,” Benda said.

Starting at $4.38/week.
