Burglary suspects sought; stolen vehicle recovered

Law enforcement authorities are looking suspects accused of stealing a car and burglarizing a property early Friday morning.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, a four-door dark green 2000 Saturn SL1 was stolen at roughly 6:30 a.m. Friday from a residence in Marshalltown. Those believed to have stolen the vehicle allegedly used the car within an hour later in a burglary east of Marshalltown on Main Street Road. The occupants are believed to be armed, officials said.

Authorities initially issued a report asking for the public’s help in locating the vehicle. It was found later Friday morning at about 11 a.m., abandoned in an alley near the 400 block between West Nevada and Madison streets. Those with any information on the burglary or those who may have perpetrated the theft of the vehicle should call 9-1-1 or submit a tip through Crime Stoppers, or call the Marshall County Communications Center at 641-754-5725.
