Local Toastmasters Club excited about new location

Many members of the local, award-winning Crosswinds Toastmaster Club # 7858 posed for a picture Wednesday near the entrance of the Emerson Process Management/Fisher Controls main office.

After holding meetings at several locations over the years, the club moved its meetings to the Emerson/Fisher Controls about one month ago. Since then, membership has increased significantly, with a number of Emerson employees joining the ranks. However, one does not have to be an Emerson employee to join. A Lennox Industries employee and two retirees are also members. Any Marshalltown area resident who desires to improve communication and leadership skills is welcome. Crosswinds officers are President Leah Cox, Vice-President Education Chrissy Bjorklund, Vice-President Membership Dierdre Taylor, Vice-President Public Relations Charlie Harris, Secretary Bill Backoff and Treasurer Melissa Niesen. The club has approximately 14 members. For more information, visit cwtm.org, or toastmasters.org.
