CONTRIBUTED PHOTO Marshalltown Fire Department personnel responded to a report of a garage fire Thursday evening at 304 S. 16th Ave. The fire remains under investigation; no injuries were reported.

On Thursday, at 8:37 p.m. Marshalltown Fire Department personnel were dispatched to 304 South 16th Avenue for a reported garage fire. Upon arrival, responders found a two car detached garage fully engulfed with fire. Fire crews quickly brought the blaze under control with two hand lines.

Two garages in the adjoining property sustained heat damage to siding, but there was no fire extension. The fire is under investigation. The structure is a total loss.

Seven Marshalltown firefighters responded to the incident and remained on the scene for approximately one and a half hours. There were no injuries as a result of the fire.
