Small business counseling being offered at the Chamber

TIMES-REPUBLICAN

The Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce wants each and everyone to know how truly sorry it is for the damage your business sustained during last Thursday’s devastating tornado. While the damage varies from business to business, resources are available for you from the Chamber and Marshall Economic Development.

Currently the Small Business Development Center is housed in the Chamber offices. Duane Johnson from the Ames SBDC office will be here Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and every day next week. Feel free to stop in (no appointment necessary) to meet with Johnson and assess what may be available to you. There is a self-assessment that will be helpful should you want to meet with the SBDC.

America’s SBDC Iowa provides at no fee confidential, customized business counseling services to start ups, existing businesses and businesses affected by disasters. The Ames SBDC is located at 1805 Collaboration Place, phone 515-294-2030 or online at www.iowasbdc.org or sbdcoffice@iastate.edu.

The Chamber has been in contact with the Governor’s office, Iowa Economic Development Authority and Iowa Workforce Development to identify disaster recovery resources. As resources become available, the Chamber will share as much information as possible.

Information will also be available on the Facebook pages: Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce and Marshall Economic Development.

Don’t hesitate to contact the Chamber of Commerce with questions during the rebuilding process by phone at 641-753-6645, online at www.marshalltown.org or Lynn Olberding at lolberding@marshalltown.org.
