The Caring Center, a nonprofit store offering adult and children’s clothing, shoes, bedding, towels, home decor, books and small appliances through a free-will donation system, has re-opened at 132 W. Main St. after being displaced by the tornado. Established in 1988, the center had set up shop at seven different locales in its history, and had only recently relocated to 27 N. Center St. in June, after having shut its doors in February 2018. Hours of operation are Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is funded solely through donations and is staffed by volunteers.
