A Marshalltown woman was arrested by Marshalltown police for domestic abuse assault when she allegedly hit a victim in the face while holding car keys, according to a criminal complaint and affidavit filed in Marshall County District Court.

Amanda Lee Morris, 26, was arrested earlier this week upon investigation of a domestic abuse incident in the 600 block of Garland Drive. The victim did not require medical attention despite having multiple wounds on the face from the attack, Capt. Brian Batterson said.

The defendant was later found by MPD at another residence but did not resist arrest. She was taken to Marshall County Jail.

Marshall County District Court Magistrate Kevin O’Hare issued a no contact order against the defendant, meaning she can not contact victim including use of social media. Her preliminary hearing is Oct. 10.
