About 160 students from area high schools took a trip to the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 3 Training Center, 601 S. 12th Ave., Tuesday to learn about bricklaying, mortar, apprenticeships, equipment and more. Students from Marshalltown, Newton, Grinnell, Bondurant, Brooklyn- Guernsey-Malcolm (BGM), Hartwick-Ladora-Victor (HLV), Beaman-Conrad-Liscomb-Union-Whitten (BCLUW) and South Tama County participated in the Bricklayers- and Masonry Institute of Iowa event.
