A Marshalltown man was arrested by local police and taken to Marshall County Jail earlier this week after pulling a pocket knife and threatening another individual, according to a criminal complaint and affidavit filed in Marshall County District Court.

Pedro Antonio Perez Perez, 39, of Marshalltown was arrested for assault while displaying a dangerous weapon. Capt. Brian Batterson of the MPD said Perez Perez was arrested when it was learned he had swung the weapon toward the mid-section of the victim durning an argument over property.

At the defendant’s initial hearing, a magistrate issued a no contact order, meaning he can not contact the victim. Perez Perez was released on his own recognizance and his preliminary hearing is Jan.24.
