CONRAD – A dance marathon of sorts was held on Feb. 15 at BCLUW elementary School in Conrad to raise money for the UNI Dance Marathon which in turn helps out the Stead Children’s Hospital at the University of Iowa hospitals and clinics. When all was collected, a total of $1,131.92 was presented to the UNI student representatives who were in attendance.

According to Principal Mitch Parker, the students raised the money with a cookie sale and through a dress up day contest in which each grade did a different dress up day and then all of the students brought coins to vote on their favorite day that would be carried out by all students and staff members on the day of the dance marathon. Western (Cowboy) Day won the dress-up day contest for the elementary. $662.49 was raised for the Dance Marathon through the dress up day voting. More than 800 cookies were sold to add to the total. Following are scenes from the day.
