LE GRAND — Two people were killed in a crash on Highway 30 by Le Grand Thursday.

Delbert Eakins, 79, and Geneva Eakins, 77, of Le Grand died in the accident, according to the Iowa State Patrol. They were traveling northbound on East Main Street in Le Grand when they pulled out in front of a semi traveling eastbound on Highway 30. The semi, driven by Michael See of Swisher, hit the side of the Eakins car. See had minor injuries.

Traffic was rerouted for several hours.

The Iowa State Patrol continues to investigate. Marshall and Tama Counties Sheriff’s Offices and Marshall County EMS assisted at the scene.
