A Marshalltown man was arrested Sunday by Marshalltown police for domestic abuse assault-third or subsequent offense.

Christopher Lartes Proctor, 36, was taken to Marshall County Jail following the investigation, according to a criminal complaint and affidavit filed in Marshall County District Court. Because the incident took place in the presence of two minor children, the defendant was also charged with two counts of child endangerment.

At his initial appearance before a magistrate, the defendant was ordered held in jail on $5,000 cash or surety bond. He was also appointed a public defender. The magistrate also issued a no contact order to protect the victim.
