Communities have a second chance to see Union Pacific’s iconic steam locomotive Big Boy No. 4014 during its return trip home to Cheyenne, Wyo. Due to the dynamic nature of these operations, running times and scheduled stops are subject to change.

At 10:15 a.m. on July 31, Big Boy will make scheduled a 15-minute stop at the Ninth Avenue crossing, Belle Plaine. At 11:30 a.m., there will be a 45-minute stop at the Second Street crossing in Marshalltown. At 2 p.m., a 15-minute stop at the Main Street crossing in Elkhart and at 3:30 p.m. it will arrive at 3201 E. Court Ave. in Des Moines.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 1, Des Moines will display and experience the Union Pacific Rail Car, 3201 E. Court Ave.

At 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 2, there will be a 45-minute stop at the Quartz Avenue crossing in Boone. At 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 2, there is a 45-stop at the Old CNW Depot, 407 W. Fifth St. in Carroll and at 3:30 p.m. at the Lincolnway Street crossing on Woodbine.
