Grundy and Tama Counties crown 2019 fair queens

With the opening of two area county fairs last week, two more young ladies earned the title of 2019 fair queen and the opportunity to represent their respective county in the 2019 Iowa State Fair Queen contest later in August.

Karly Wilhau was chosen at the 2019 Grundy County Fair Queen. She is 18 years old and graduated in May from Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School. The daughter of Katrina and Jason Hemann and Nyle and Jeni Wilhau, Karly plans to attend Hawkeye Community College for two years and then transfer to Iowa State to get a teaching degree with an endorsement to teach agriculture.

Katelyn Kucera of Traer was chosen as the 2019 Tama County Fair Queen. Katelyn who is the daughter of Kathy and Bruce Kucera, was crowned Tuesday evening during the opening ceremony of the 2019 Tama County Fair.
