Recent events in Marshalltown

“Stuff the Bus” Staff and volunteers from Marshalltown’s House of Compassion is pictured Friday in the Hy-Vee Grocery Store parking lot. The charitable organization’s Pam Strobbe said a number of residents had dropped off school supplies or donated cash for needy students. The bus was scheduled to be in Wal-Mart’s parking lot Saturday and Sunday.
Hot Dogs and Cool Cars An Our Savior Lutheran Church volunteer directs the driver of a vintage car into the church’s parking lot as part of Friday’s Hot Dogs and Cool Cars event. Car buffs, hobbyists, and church members showed up to see a wide variety of antique, “hot rod” and other unique automobiles. Volunteers from the local Immigrant Allies offered face painting for youngsters. Event proceeds went to the local Child Abuse Prevention Services.
