Auctioneer Jason Lekin of Traer begins to auction a tray of cupcakes held by UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown Foundation board member Linda Kuehl of Conrad at Saturday night’s “Summer Soiree” at the local Elmwood Country Club. The event raised several thousand dollars through ticket sales, a dessert auction and more which allows the Foundation to provide free-of-charge mammograms to qualifying non-insured and under-insured women in the UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown service area.

Foundation Executive Director Dierdre Gruendler said 53 potentially life-saving mammograms were provided last year. The mammogram service is a joint effort of UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown and McFarland Clinic. The inaugural “soiree” in 2018 was a success too.
