Q: What are you passionate about?

I’m passionate about helping others and customer service.

Q: What community activities do you participate in?

I’m a part of the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce, Chamber Ambassadors, PEO, Parks and Recreation board of directors, Operation Merry Christmas and a lot of community things I attend.

Q: What do you enjoy about this community?

I enjoy socializing, meeting other people and getting involved.

Q: What changes do you feel need to be made in the community?

We could be better if we could come together, instead of sometimes fighting each other. Our goals should be one, whether we have different opinions or not. That is what our aim should be.

Q: What advice would you pass on to young people?

I would advise them to get involved because that is where you meet your life-long friends. It is where you grow up. And you feel better about yourself when you give to others. It’s a good feeling when you give back.

Q: What is your favorite Marshalltown activity?

I don’t know if I have a favorite. I like the Orpheum’s “Live After 5.” I like the 13th Street District events. The annual art fair has been good. There is a lot of activities going on designed to make Marshalltown a better place.

Q: What social activity or event would you like to see come Marshalltown and why?

It would be nice if Marshalltownians supported Marshalltown more. For example, take concerts. I remember my years as an Oktemberfest volunteer, and it was always a challenge to get residents to attend concerts during that festival. However, they would easily attend concerts at Wells Fargo Arena. It would be nice if we would support each other.
