Ward arrested for meth possession
Torin Lee Ward, 32, of Tama was arrested by the Marshalltown Police Department Thursday on a warrant for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver — a Class B felony — according to court documents.
The charge stems from a July incident when a video showed Ward and another subject fleeing a scene but leaving behind a case for glasses with small clear plastic baggies and a larger clear plastic bag containing 5.8 grams of methamphetamine. A warrant was issued shortly thereafter.
At his initial appearance on Friday, a magistrate judge appointed a public defender for Ward, who was ordered held on $25,000 cash or surety bond.
His preliminary hearing is Dec. 20
