More COVID-19 cases in Marshall County

EDITOR’S NOTE: The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases are reported by the Iowa Department of Public Health daily. Local reports of positive cases are often reported prior to being released by IDPH.

Seventy-three new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Iowa on Tuesday. That brings the total to 497. Of those, 61 are hospitalized and 23 have been discharged and are recovering.

Two additional cases were confirmed in Marshall County bringing the county total to eight.

Of the 497 cases in Iowa, 264 are women and 233 are men. The age group with the largest number of cases is ages 41-60 with 176, followed by ages 61-80 with 149 cases; ages 18-40 with 136; ages 81 and older with 30 cases; and ages 0-17 with six.

Another Iowan died from the virus on Tuesday, which brings the total of fatal cases to seven in the state.

• Jasper County, 1 elderly adult (81+)

• Johnson County, 2 adults (18-40 years), 1 middle-age (41-60 years)

• Jones County, 2 adults (18-40 years), 1 middle age (41-60 years)

• Keokuk County, 1 adult (18-40 years)

• Linn County, 3 adults (18-40 years), 7 middle age adults (41-60 years), 7 older adults (61-80 years), 2 elderly (81+)

• Muscatine County, 2 middle-age (41-60 years), 1 older adult (61-80 years)

• Polk County, 1 child (0-17), 5 adults (18-40 years), 3 middle age adults (41-60 years), 4 older adult (61-80 years), 2 elderly (81+)

• Pottawattamie County, 1 middle-age (41-60 years)

• Scott County, 2 middle-age (41-60 years)

• Sioux County, 1 middle age adult (41-60 years), 1 older adult (61-80 years)

• Tama County, 1 adult (18-40 years)

• Warren County, 2 middle-age (41-60 years)

• Washington County, 3 adults (18-40 years), 2 older adults (61-80 years), 1 elderly (81+)

There have been a total of 6,888 negative tests.
