Lincoln Way crash injures three
A Marshalltown resident was transported to Des Moines after an accident on Lincoln Way Wednesday morning.
Lincoln Way was closed to traffic for several hours after the two-vehicle rollover crash which caused serious injuries to multiple people who were transported to a medical facility Wednesday morning, according to a Marshalltown police news release.
Antonio Guzman, of Marshalltown, lost control of his white 2000 Nissan XTR SUV because of the ice-covered roadway and went over the center line hitting a 2011 Chevrolet Cruz driven by a minor.
Guzman’s car rolled onto the edge of the road and landed on the passenger side. A passenger, Ricardo Ochoa Ramirez was thrown from the vehicle as it was rolling.
Ramirez was flown to a hospital in Des Moines for treatment. Guzman and the other driver were transported to a hospital in Marshalltown.
The MPD and Iowa State Patrol are investigating the accident that occurred just after 7 a.m. near Lincoln Towers.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
