Lennox to lay off nearly 200 workers
On Monday, Lennox announced a layoff of 183 workers, which was confirmed by the union UAW Local 893.
Officials with the union declined any further comment.
Phil Gee, a spokesperson with the Lennox corporate public relations office in Texas, said, “As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and economic downturn Lennox will lay off 183 employees effective April 27. Future staffing needs will be aligned with an economic recovery and product demand.”
A Lennox employee, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, said papers regarding the layoff were placed in work areas for employees to look at.
