As of Friday, there are 891 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Marshall County, a rise of seven cases since Wednesday. Of the total, 511 Marshall County residents have recovered.

Marshall County is in the top five counties with the highest COVID-19 cases. The others are Polk with 4,055; Woodbury, 2,721; Black Hawk, 1,732; and Linn, 945.

Across the state, there have been 18,956 positive cases. Of those, 10, 877 have recovered. The case numbers on the Iowa Department of Public Health COVID-19 website are updated throughout the day.

There are 376 Iowans hospitalized with the virus. Of those, 117 are in intensive care units and 78 are on ventilators.

Marshall County has two recorded outbreaks in long-term care facilities. The Iowa Veterans Home has had 32 positive cases of COVID-19, with 16 recovered and Accura HealthCare of Marshalltown has had 54 cases, with eight recovered.

Hospital activity is displayed by regions on the Iowa Department of Pubic Health website, coronavirus.iowa.gov. Marshall County is in Regional Medical Coordination Center Region 1, which has 160 hospitalized patients. Of those, 29 are in intensive care units and 21 are on ventilators.

There have been 16 COVID-19 deaths in Marshall County and 524 statewide.
