Auditor still counting ballots
Ballots from the Tuesday primary continue coming in.
Marshall County Auditor Nan Benson said mail-in ballots had a deadline of Monday at noon to be mailed. There is a bar code on each envelope that indicates whether or not the ballot met the deadline.
“If it was mailed June 2, it does not count,” she said.
As of Thursday, 72 mail-in ballots have been received after the Tuesday election.
“It is very exciting,” Benson said. “I am excited people exercised their right to vote and that it was safe for workers and voters.”
The ballots will be counted, and the write-in votes made public on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
