East Ferner Street fire badly damages home
A Wednesday morning house fire caused extensive damage.
The fire was accidental and the Marshalltown Fire Department responded with Marshalltown Police Department and Unity Point EMS.
The call came in around 8 a.m. Smoke was visible from several blocks away and on MPD arrival, the house was reported to be fully involved. The homeowner was on scene and stated everyone was out of the residence.
When firefighters arrived they found heavy fire conditions in the residence and brought fire under control using exterior hoselines.
No injuries are reported and damage is estimated at $70,000. Fire crews were on scene for approximately 2 hours.
