22 new cases since Thursday

Twenty-two additional cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Marshall County since Thursday.

Marshall County is in the top 10 counties in Iowa with the highest COVID-19 cases. The others are Polk with 8,415, an increase of 339 since Thursday; Woodbury, 3,471, increase of 53; Black Hawk, 2,699, an increase of 55; Buena Vista, 1,755, an increase of seven; Johnson, 1,635, an increase of 39; Linn, 1,589, an increase of 76; Dallas, 1,559, an increase of 67; Scott, 1,303, an increase of 60; Dubuque, 1201. The case numbers on the IDPH website are updated throughout the day.

A long-term care facility, Grandview Heights of Marshalltown, has an outbreak of 33 cases with three recovered.

Across the state, there have been 39,108 positive cases, an increase of 1,439 since Thursday. Of the total, 28,008 have recovered.

There are 221 Iowans hospitalized with the virus. Of Friday’s total, 76 are in intensive care units and 30 are on ventilators.

Hospital activity is displayed by regions on the IDPH website, coronavirus.iowa.gov. Marshall County is in Regional Medical Coordination Center Region 1, which has 80 hospitalized patients. Of the total hospitalized in Region 1, 20 are in intensive care units and 11 are on ventilators.

There have been 21 COVID-19 deaths in Marshall County and 797 statewide.

Across the state, 419,837 tests have been conducted. Plus, 917,911 Test Iowa assessments have been conducted – 3,192 in Marshall County.
