Members of Marshalltown's Rotary Club dropped 150 bags of food from HyVee to the Emergency Food Bank amid extremely cold conditions. It took 13 people 70 minutes to finish the drive. Rotary member Mike Schlesinger was the organizer of the food drive. He was inspired by an article describing the increasing need of food banks due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Schlesinger asked Rotary members to donate $20 to buy groceries for the Emergency Food Bank and HyVee contributed an extra $5 of groceries for each bag.
