Business to come to Center Street building

A new space for business is opening up in Marshalltown.

Iowa Twister, a limited liability company, has purchased the building located at 3405 S. Center St. and is seeking renters. Principal Officer of Iowa Twister Jim Votaw said his company plans to remodel the building both inside and out, while seeking multiple tenants for retail business, medical practices and professional office space.

“When we get done, it’s going to be a lot nicer looking outside as well as inside,” Votaw said.

For the last two years, the building has been occupied by the church Iglesia Pentecostes Independiente Amor Abundante and before that was a satellite office for the Iowa jobs corps.

While Votaw lives in Georgia and owns the Iowa based company, he said he is originally from Nebraska and once lived in Iowa.

“I just like Marshalltown and I thought it would be a very good location and it could be made to look so much nicer than it currently is,” Votaw said.

Part of the remodeling efforts will be giving the exterior building a fresher look. Completion and opening of the building will depend on what tenants end up renting space and what accommodations will need to be made for their space in the building as a part of the remodeling process, Votaw said.
