MPD supports Special Olympics Iowa

Officers from the Marshalltown Police Department, Marshall County Sheriff's Office and other local law enforcement agencies came together in support of an annual fundraiser for Special Olympics Iowa. Officers stood outside Dunkin' Donuts in Marshalltown on Friday from 5 a.m. to noon asking for donations. Donations stay in Iowa to help fund Iowa Special Olympics Athletes. "We've had a lot of people come out and support us, we've had some of the athletes out here hanging out with us for a while greeting people, it's been a good turnout," Marshall County Sheriff Chief Deputy Ben Veren said. "It's nice for us to get out here and help get those donations from the public and that in turn benefits our athletes."
