Salvation Army Thanksgiving meal returns

After cancelling the event in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Salvation Army of Marshalltown returned with its annual Thanksgiving meal on Thursday. A total of 209 meals were served with 125 delivered. In all, 55 pounds of potatoes, 200 pounds of turkey, two cases of cranberries, four cases of stuffing, eight number 10 cans of green beans, over 200 rolls and 30 pumpkin pies were prepared for the day. In the end, all that was left was some pie, one pan of turkey, a half pan of green beans and a small amount of potatoes. Over 50 volunteers throughout the day helped to make the event possible.
