MFD battles house fire on Lincoln Street
The Marshalltown Fire Department (MFD), along with the Marshalltown Police Department (MPD) and UnityPoint EMS, responded to a house fire at 107 E. Lincoln St. at about 11:44 a.m. on Thursday.
Upon arrival, the fire crews found a two-story residence fully involved, and due to the extent of the fire, a defensive operation was established. Firefighters brought it under control and conducted a search of the building with no one found inside.
The MFD was on the scene for about two and a half hours, and no injuries were reported. An investigation of the fire is currently underway, and an update will be provided upon its completion.
