GILMAN – A tornado touched down near the southeast corner of Marshall County on Saturday night, but Emergency Management Coordinator Kim Elder said there have been no damages reported thus far.
According to Elder, the twister actually touched down just south of the Marshall County line between Gilman and Newburg and eventually made its way into Tama County. She had spotters in Laurel, Haverhill, Gilman and Le Grand, and none of them reported any damages. Still, the plan is to conduct surveys in the coming days and further assess the situation.
Tornados touched down across central Iowa on Saturday, with more serious storms making landfall in Winterset and Norwalk and at least six deaths reported.
