Eight arrested in drug task force warrant sweep

The Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force, in cooperation with the Marshalltown Police Department (MPD) and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), executed search warrants for wanted persons in Marshalltown on Wednesday, resulting in the arrest of six individuals in Marshalltown and two others in surrounding areas.

According to a press release from the MCSO, three individuals were apprehended at 522 N. Center St. Austin Peter Bair, age 27, of Marshalltown was charged with possession of schedule II controlled substance w/ intent (methamphetamine), a Class B felony, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, a Class D felony, and violation of parole warrant.

Scott William Doc Slocum, age 29, of Marshalltown, was charged with violation of probation warrant at the same address, and Ramon Jesus Mora, age 22, of Marshalltown was charged with possession of schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine) second or subsequent offense, an aggravated misdemeanor.

At 206 S. Third Ave., multiple individuals were also arrested. Omar Alejandro Cruz, age 30, of Marshalltown was charged with possession of schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine) third or subsequent offense, a Class D felony, prohibited acts, an aggravated misdemeanor and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

Stefani Jo Perdue, age 26, of Marshalltown was charged with possession of schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine) third or subsequent offense, a Class D Felony, prohibited acts, an aggravated misdemeanor and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

Jose Eduardo Victor, age 31, of Marshalltown was arrested at the same address on felony warrants.

Michael Joseph Alexander, age 45, of Wellsburg, was arrested in Wellsburg on a failure to appear warrant, and in Hampton, 41-year-old Andrew Craig Buttshaw was arrested and charged with possession of schedule II controlled substance (Methamphetamine) second or subsequent offense, an aggravated misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

Warrants were also served at three other addresses in Marshalltown with no arrests made on Wednesday. As a result of the warrants, officers seized a “distributional” amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, and they recovered a stolen vehicle. According to the release, one minor was encountered during the service of the warrants.

The Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force, which is funded by a grant through the United States Department of Justice, the Bureau of Justice Assistance, and the Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy, worked with the MPD, the MCSO, the sheriff’s offices in Tama, Grundy and Franklin counties, the Hampton Police Department, the Iowa State Patrol, the Central Iowa Drug Task Force, the North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force and Special Operations Group, the Tri-County Drug Task Force, the Division of Narcotics Enforcement, and the Drug Enforcement Administration to execute the warrants.
