Six more arrests made on drug charges

Six individuals were arrested on various criminal drug charges and local warrants Thursday night after agents with the Mid-Iowa Task Force (MIDTF) served search warrants for two rooms at the Economy Inn located at 3108 S. Center St.
Luis Omar Cabrera-Heredia, 43 of Marshalltown was charged with the possession of a schedule II controlled substance with intent to deliver (methamphetamine), a class B-Felony as well as tax stamp violation, a class D-Felony.
Marshalltown residents, Dagoberto Camarena-Rodriguez, 33, Sergio Avalos-Castellanos, 44, and Lexi Lynch, 23, had the same charges as Cabrera-Heredia, however Lynch was also wanted on other warrants.
Karma Monk, 21, has a Le Grand address, and she was charged with the possession of a schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine), a serious misdemeanor, as well as the possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Marshalltown man Victor Carrilo Jr., 29, was charged with the possession of a schedule I controlled substance (marijuana), which is a serious misdemeanor.
According to a press release from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), when MIDTF agents searched the hotel rooms, vehicles and individuals involved in the investigation, they found and seized approximately 17 pounds of ice methamphetamine, cocaine, drug paraphernalia, over $22,000 in U.S. currency and a vehicle. The drugs seized in the investigation have an approximate street value of $380,000 depending on distribution methods.
Sheriff Joel Phillips said this investigation has been ongoing for about two months, and additional arrests connected to this investigation are still expected in the coming weeks.
The MIDTF was assisted with the search by the Central Iowa Drug Task Force, the MCSO, the Marshalltown Police Department and the Iowa State Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
