A vehicle was stolen from a field near the 2200 mile marker of Luray Road on Wednesday night. According to Marshall County Sheriff Joel Phillips, the silver 2010 Chevrolet Silverado truck was parked in a field with the keys in the ignition and the vehicle was reported stolen a little after 10 p.m.

“Usually with something like this, it’s somebody that’s from the area or their vehicle broke down so they look for a different way, or a different means for transportation. It happens more often than we would like,” Phillips said.

The truck has not been recovered yet, though Phillips said in these situations, the vehicles are usually close by. There are no suspects at this time, and the incident is still under investigation.
