Times-Republican Publisher Abigail Pelzer is stepping down at the end of July.

Pelzer has accepted a position as Senior Marketing Manager at MARSHALLTOWN and will continue to live in the community.

Terry Christensen, publisher of The Messenger in Fort Dodge and the Daily Freeman-Journal in Webster City, has been named interim publisher.

Christensen’s newspaper career spans 24 years. He has an extensive background in advertising and commercial print operations, and recently completed his term as President of the Iowa Newspaper Association Board.

Christensen is looking forward to making connections in Marshalltown and assisting staff at the T-R. He may be reached at tchristensen@messengernews.com.
