Meskwaki Settlement man sentenced to federal prison over sex abuse

A man from the Meskwaki Settlement who was convicted of performing a sex act on a victim while she was asleep at his residence will serve more than 15 years in federal prison after a recent sentencing hearing.

Robin Roberts, 67, will spend 188 months in federal prison, and he must also pay a $5,000 special assessment. When his period of incarceration has concluded, he must serve a five-year term of supervised release.

Roberts is being held in the United States Marshal’s custody until he can be transported to a federal prison. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Lisa C. Williams and Liz Dupuich and was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Meskwaki Nation Police Department.
