On Tuesday evening, Marshalltown Police Department officers attempted to serve an arrest warrant at 519 North 1st St. to retrieve Ramon Alexis Feliciano Nieves, 40, of Marshalltown.
He was uncooperative with officers as they attempted to bring him into custody. Feliciano Nieves entered an apartment that was not his to hide. MPD crisis negotiators and the Special Weapons and Tactics Team were called in to assist. Feliciano Nieves, who has a history of assault and weapons possession, was located and arrested two and a half hours later. No injuries occurred.
He was taken to the Marshall County Jail, where he is being held on a $19,000 cash only bond pending further court proceedings.
Feliciano Nieves is charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, three counts of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, two counts of assault causing bodily injury and a third offense of possession of a controlled substance. The investigation is ongoing. The charges are only accusations and Feliciano Nieves is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
