On Tuesday, BCLUW students Madi Priske and Emma Siemens delivered an especially sweet gift to the Animal Rescue League of Marshalltown.
During the 2022-2023 school year, students in the Comet Council raised over $300 by selling candy. They donated all of the funds they raised to ARL Marshalltown.
"We're so grateful for their support," said Erika Melchor, Volunteer Coordinator at ARL Marshalltown. It's great to see the next generation "having fun while giving back to their community."
Emma and Madi joined BCLUW teachers Darci Steckelberg and Kim Geelhart on a tour of the ARL Marshalltown facility. Erika made sure to show the dogs and cats that will benefit from their hard work - and the back of house areas where the care takes place. "I wanted to the girls to see firsthand see all the ways we care for animals waiting for their forever homes. We need the next generation of students be responsible pet owners - and great leaders!"
