Connect Marshalltown returns Wednesday

By Robert Maharry 2 min read

A popular networking event for area professionals of all ages hosted by the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce will return Wednesday night at Tannin from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Connect Marshalltown, which was previously known as the Marshalltown Young Professionals group, is back in once a month installments the first Wednesday of each month, and Chamber Workforce Development Director Kate Bowermaster said Tannin was chosen for the inaugural 2023-2024 location because it's been such a big hit in the past.

"I heard that last time, Tannin was a hit, and I wanted to start again in that same direction," she said. "Hopefully we get a lot of people showing up, and that will give us some momentum going forward.

Bowermaster also confirmed that next month's event will be held Nov. 1 at Wayward Social, another traditional favorite for those who have attended in the past. Subsequent dates will be shared on social media and via email to Chamber members ahead of the events.

"I'm hoping that we can bring all sorts of people into these events going forward, and, you know, if you get one person from here, one person from there and they start bringing friends, that will build on each other," she said. "And hopefully some new businesses too that haven't been involved in the past."

Anyone with questions or suggestions on future locations is encouraged to contact Bowermaster at kbowermaster@marshalltown.org.
