Happy Halloween!
Shortly — 20 minutes — after the opening, a lot of people line up for treats at the Marshalltown Police/Fire trunk or treat on Tuesday. The trunk or treat began at 6 p.m. and lasted until 8 p.m.
Mike and Rachel Loupee hand out treats from their Grinch ride at Tuesday’s trunk or treat at Marshalltown High School. The event was hosted by the MHS Student Senate.
The Bobcat Cheerleaders enjoy a moment between costumed children on Halloween during the MHS Student Senate trunk or treat. The cheerleaders and friends handing out candy were Lydia Blevins, Devin Lovell, Ttori Nelson, Gracie Baumgartner, Mylie Dougall and Ellie Downs.
Marshalltown Police Chief Mike Tupper hands warm hot dogs to trick or treaters at the trunk or treat on Tuesday. Other first responder departments handing out treats were the Marshall County 911, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the Marshalltown Fire Department, MPACT and UnityPoint EMTs.

Even though trick or treating was officially on Saturday – Beggar's Night – for Marshalltown, some trunk or treats were held on Tuesday for Halloween. Even though the temperatures did not get warmer from Saturday, families still braved the cold to get the treats and some tricks which were up for grabs.
