A number of local agencies and businesses including the Marshalltown Police Department, the Marshalltown Fire Department, Hy-Vee, Radio Z 95.5, First Rate Real Estate and Wilson Toyota teamed up to distribute hundreds of Thanksgiving turkeys on a first come, first serve basis in the parking lot of the Police/Fire building on Tuesday afternoon. The line of vehicles stretched all the way down High Street toward the 6th Street intersection, but both the volunteers handing out the birds and the residents who received them agreed it was worth the wait.
