Daniel Morales, 20, of Marshalltown was arrested Friday for second-degree sexual abuse of a child by the Marshalltown Police Department.

Second-degree sexual abuse is a class B felony and carries a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.

The arrest was made in connection with an investigation that began on Oct. 17, and is ongoing. He was booked into the Marshall County Jail where he is currently being held. The charge against Morales is an accusation and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
