An 18-year-old has been arrested for his alleged role in an August drive-by shooting after a lengthy investigation by the Marshalltown Police Department.

On Aug. 29 at 9:37 p.m., officers and medical responders were dispatched to the area of North Street and North 1st Avenue in Marshalltown for a report of a drive-by shooting. An 18-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to UnityPoint Hospital for treatment, and a nearby apartment building also sustained damage during the shooting.

As the MPD investigated the crime, a suspect, 18-year-old Tyree Letrell Rudolph, was developed, and it was discovered that he had a warrant out for his arrest in Oklahoma for armed robbery.

On Friday, the MPD located Rudolph and took him into custody without incident. He has been charged with attempt to commit murder, a Class B felony, going armed with intent, a Class D felony, reckless use of a firearm causing property damage, an aggravated misdemeanor, and possession of dangerous weapons by a minor, a serious misdemeanor.

Rudolph is currently being held in the Marshall County Jail, and no bond has been set. Trial and hearing dates were not available at presstime.
