Redefined Air opens on State Center’s Main Street

STATE CENTER -- The next time you stroll down State Center's historic Main Street, take note that the "For Sale" sign in the window of 118 W. Main St. has been replaced by the signage of Redefined Air - Rainbow.
This building, which last was the home of Gregory Photography and Juanita's Hair Garden, was gutted and rehabbed by State Center Development volunteers and funds from various grants. While it sat empty waiting for a new owner, the building hosted the Watson Fall Festival and Old Fashioned Christmas on Main events. Finally, this past Spring, a buyer was found.
Mindy Ellis, branch manager for Redefined Air LLC, had moved to State Center from Des Moines with her husband John and three daughters five years ago. She enjoyed being a stay at home mom until 2022 when she "branched out" as a part-time Rainbow dealer.
As business grew, she convinced Rachel Hansen, Marketing Director for Crystal Clear Air, LLC and Crystal Griffith, Satellite Distributor, to choose a regional space in State Center. Mindy admits that she had to do some convincing as the other two gals were leaning on trying to find a location in Marshalltown, but after looking at the facility and noting the "small town" atmosphere, it was a perfect match.
As both Rachel and Crystal have home bases in Brooklyn, Iowa, (and office space there also), they appreciated the advantages of a small community where the biggest obstacle can be finding a parking spot on Main Street. All agreed that since they currently have their open houses on Monday evenings at the State Center location from 6 to 7 p.m., that parking usually is not a problem.
Today's Rainbow Air Purification and complete home cleaning system is not your mother's Rainbow vacuum. The company, in business since 1936, has evolved to create a product that is a natural solution to "indoor pollution" by eliminating chemicals and contaminants. Rainbow is sold in all 50 states.
As mentioned earlier, the office space is used for the weekly monthly Monday night open house events (complete with dinner and prizes) or by appointment.
Mindy Ellis, who is working to become the area distributor, has been with the company for almost one year now. Rachel, who previously worked as a RN, has been part of the organization for the past four years and laughs that the reason she even became involved with Crystal Clean Air, LLC was that she had lost a bet to her friend Crystal Griffith (who previously worked for seven years at a nursing home and now works exclusively for Crystal Clean Air, LLC).
It seems that Rachel's husband had scheduled an in-home demonstration for a rainbow system, and Rachel, having just worked a long shift at the Brooklyn nursing home, was not exactly thrilled about having to listen to a sales pitch. She bet Crystal that if she bought a Rainbow product she would work for the company. Needless to say, four years later, Rachel has quit her RN job and is the marketing director for Rainbow.
Chrissy Gorley, a Rainbow dealer, drove from Ankeny on a rainy morning to share about her experiences with the organization. She had previously worked in a dental office but just recently quit to focus full time on sales. All four of those present shared that the financial opportunities are unlimited and totally up to the individual for their own dollar goal within the company.
With the office space in State Center, they shared that they can expand their "in home demonstrations" to include communities such as Colo, McCallsburg, Zearing, Rhodes, Clemons, St. Anthony, Marshalltown, Melbourne, and of course State Center, where over 40 units have already been sold.
