Marshall County deputies respond to fatal accident

cident southwest of Albion on Thursday evening, according to a press release from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 6:38 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 2000 mile of 190th Street for a report of a single vehicle rollover accident with unknown occupants. When they arrived, an unresponsive male was located on the roadway several yards from the vehicle.

It was determined that no other occupants were inside or near the incident vehicle before it became fully engulfed in flames. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead on scene as a result of injuries sustained from the accident, and his is not being released at this time pending the notification of family members.

The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol and Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, UnityPoint Health — Marshalltown Ambulance, the Marshall County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Albion Fire Department and First Responders, the Liscomb Fire Department, and the Clemons Fire Department.
