A Marshalltown man died of a gunshot wound early this morning. The man’s name is not being released at this time pending family notifications.
After 1 a.m., the Marshalltown Police Department and first responders answered a 911 call for help after a shooting occurred at the Center Street Station bar. Upon arrival, officers found the man suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical care was immediately administered, and he was transported to Unity Point, but died.
The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made and no suspects are in police custody. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting with the investigation.
