Chesick

An 81-year-old Gilman man has been charged with a pair of felonies over allegations that he sexually abused a minor victim and showed the victim pornography earlier this month.

Stanley Joel Chesick was arrested on Friday and charged with second degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony, lascivious acts with a child — fondle/touch, a Class C felony, and dissemination and exhibition of obscene materials to minors, a serious misdemeanor.

According to criminal complaints filed by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Chesick made inappropriate comments to the minor victim on multiple occasions and touched the victim in a way that constituted a sex act. He is also alleged to have shown the victim pornographic videos on a cellular phone and asked the victim to perform similar acts.

As this issue went to press, Chesick was being held in the Marshall County Jail on a $25,000 bond. Trial and hearing dates have not yet been set.
